Italiani: personaggi che il mondo ci invidia: Arte - Clelia Caraccia / Andrea Mantelli
"Vita e opere, Brevi graphic novel, Attivita."
The first in a series of innovative books for intermediate level students of Italian (CEFR B1-B2) which presents four iconic Italian artists not only through interesting, informative articles and images, but also through original short stories in the form of a graphic novel, bringing these famous personalities alive in a new and engaging way for students of Italian.
"Arte" introduces us to the brilliant Leonardo da Vinci, the great Michelangelo Buonarroti, the eccentric Caravaggio and the passionate Bernini.
A short biography presents the lives and works of each artist, along with brief cultural details about the historical period and the literary and artistic trends of the time. The language is kept as clear and simple as possible to help students deepen their understanding of the artists' main principles and of their most significant works.
A colourful graphic novel, specially created by established designers, then presents a particular moment or event in each of the artists lives, linked to one of their works.
A final section of comprehension exercises, created in collaboration with the University for Foreigners of Siena, offers students the opportunity to retrace what they have read and to further develop vocabulary, reading and writing skills. Answers to the activities are provided at the back of the book, making it ideal for independent study.
