If yesterday a student could not focus in class, teachers would say he's indifferent. If yesterday a student couldn't make nice letters, teachers would call him lazy. If yesterday a student thought differently than the others, they would say he's uneducated. If yesterday a student didn't lower his eyes, they would call him rude. Yesterday, they used to say that those students were "slow". And one day they abandoned school; regardless of their dreams. Regardless of the fact that they kept diamonds and treasures deep inside them. This was yesterday, not today.
Today, every child has the right to be inattentive. Today, not all children make beautiful letters. Today we look for an answer not written inside the books. Today, children look us in the eyes. Because today, these students of yesterday taught us what diversity is. And thus we gradually loved it as well. Possibly because we dared to look through their eyes. And that's when we saw for the first time all tones of colors. So different between them, however matching perfectly when they are all together. Yellow and blue make green. Blue and red make purple.
That's also how people are: different. To complete one another. And children also; so as to never forget that each one has its own tone. And if we, grown-ups, either parents or teachers, are unable to see it, we're wrong. That's when we lose; because "the future "is getting out to beg.
