In an age when language could not yet express abstract ideas, the ancient Greeks expressed their thoughts and innermost feelings by creating myths. Their admiration of heroes, their need for role models, and their efforts to understand the mysteries of life and death, the philosophical questions that torment the human mind, the desire to learn about the world around them, created a poetic mythology that did trancended rational or conventional morals.
